Church at Bodie, California

Church at Bodie is a plein air painting at the historic Bodie "Ghost Town" in  California.  Bodie is a ghost town in the Bodie Hills east of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Mono County, California, United States about 75 miles southeast of Lake Tahoe, 12 mi east-southeast of Bridgeport, at an elevation of 8379 feet. Bodie became a boom town in 1876 after the discovery of a profitable line of gold; by 1879 it had a population of 7,000–10,000.   Today its a well preserved glimpse into the past.  This original oil painting is a 8 x 10 inch oil on canvas painting and available through UGallery in San Francisco.
